Join the Gerber Scout Reservation Merit Badge Counselors for a fun weekend of Fishing on Britton Lake.
Scouts and adults will get hands-on tips and skills while working on the Fishing Merit Badge. We’ll work on book work on Friday night and spend Saturday at the lake fishing from our fishing docks and rowboats. Participants are encouraged to bring their own Fishing Pole & Gear if they have it. Our fishing guides will be happy to help you decide what will work best in our lake. The camp will have worms and some poles available for those that need them. Once the fishing is done, we will move to the cleaning & cooking station to finish off our requirements.
Everyone should plan to check in at the Gerber Scout Reservation Trading Post on Friday night. Please be sure to bring your Health Forms to check-in! They will be collected and returned at pick up. Plan to have dinner before you arrive.
Participants should allow enough time at arrival to set up their tent on our group campsite. Classes will start at 7pm on Friday, so please plan accordingly and let us know if you expect to arrive after 7pm.
Participants will be released on Sunday after breakfast is finished and the campsite is cleaned. Parents can plan to meet them back at the Trading Post by 9:30am.
We have 3 options for meals & housing. You may select different levels for different people in the same group:
Full Service = Sleep in a cabin, 4 Meals and 2 Cracker Barrels provided by our excellent kitchen staff & merit badge class
Classic Package = Bring your own tent & join us on the group campsite, 4 Meals and 2 Cracker Barrels provided by our excellent kitchen staff & merit badge class
Merit Badge Only = Your unit reserves their own accommodation directly through Gerber (both cabins & campsites are currently available) and provides all of their own meals. Participants join the group for merit badge instruction and fishing on Friday night & Saturday.
Event Registration closes on May 1st
