Installing and Using the MCC Camp Apps

Our camp apps (starting in 2025) have a new look and feel!  Simpler to install, and hopefully easier and cleaner to navigate.  Here’s what you need to know. 

NOTE:  You do not have to “install” the app — you can use it right from a browser on ANY device.  By doing that, though, you will NOT receive push notifications (weather warnings, program changes, etc.).

Installing

TIP:  The easiest way to install and configure the app?  Visit the weblink for the “app”, and then when it prompts you to Install/Add to Home screen, say YES.  When it prompts you to allow notifications, ALLOW.  Details are below if you want more.

At this point, the apps no longer are installed from the Apple Store or Google Play Store.  They are built on web technology, so all you need is a web browser and a device (phone, tablet, laptop).  You get the App experience without searching through the App stores or dealing with their updates.

1. Using your browser ( must be Chrome on Android or Safari on iOS), go to the Camp App’s weblink.

2. You have two options for “installing” the app – manually or prompted. 

· Prompted:  If you navigate around the app – reading FOUR different pages/events will prompt you with a “Do you want to install this app?” or “Install app”.  Choose to Install.

· Manually: After going to the page, you can choose to install

· Android: Use the three dots menu in the upper right and choose “Add to Home Screen”.  It will ask if you want to install the app.

· Apple: Tap on the Share button at the bottom of the browser window.  Select the option labeled “Add to home screen”.

Push Notifications

To receive notifications from the App, you can wait for it to prompt you to allow Notifications, or you can turn them on.  After 8 “actions” in the app (viewing screens, navigating around), it will pop up and ask you if you want to Allow Notifications.  Choose Allow to receive the notifications.  You can also manually configure this using your device’s native Notification settings options.
