Join local Ham Radio Clubs and the Gerber Volunteers for a weekend of Jamboree on the Air (JOTA) and the Radio Merit Badge!
Participants are welcome to come for the whole weekend or to just join us on Saturday. Both options will include participation in JOTA and the Radio MB. You will learn what it takes to send information from one location to another, while having a little fun at camp with the Radio MB. Participants will also attempt to connect with scouters around the world in different countries through JOTA.
Those attending for Saturday only will participate in JOTA, but may leave with a partial on the Radio MB. If you are coming for Saturday, please plan to check in at the Trading Post Saturday morning between 8:30am and 8:45am. We will start programing at 9am
Those attending for the weekend should plan to check in at the Gerber Trading Post on Friday night. Please be sure to bring your Health Forms to check-in! They will be collected and returned at pick up. We will gather at 7:30 pm Friday for some entry level radio games and activities, so please plan accordingly and let us know if you expect to arrive after 7:30 pm. Everyone should have dinner before you arrive. Cracker Barrel on Friday is the snack provided.
Participants will be released on Sunday after breakfast is finished and the campsite is cleaned. Parents can plan to meet them back at the Trading Post by 9:30am.
We have 3 options for meals & housing. You may select different levels for different people in the same group:
Full Service $80 = Sleep in a cabin, 4 Meals and 2 Cracker Barrels provided by our excellent kitchen staff & program (JOTA & Radio MB)
Classic Package $60 = Bring you tent & join us on the group campsite, 4 Meals and 2 Cracker Barrels provided by our excellent kitchen staff & program (JOTA & Radio MB)
Program Only (JOTA & Radio MB) $20 = Your unit reserves their own accommodation directly through Gerber (both cabins & campsites are currently available) and provides all of their own meals. Participants join the group for program (JOTA & Radio MB)
